STUDBOOK DATA QUALITY ERROR NOTE

 

How to add a note associated with a Data Quality Error in ZIMS for Studbooks.

A note box is associated with each Data Quality Error and you can choose to add a note or not. Notes can be especially helpful for data that ZIMS interprets as an error but is actually not. An example would be the error that the Sire was deceased before the conception date for a parma wallaby. This often happens because of embryonic diapause and is not an actual error.

 

To add a note, select the Add Note icon to the right of the error.

 

Record the note as desired and Save.

 

If there is a note associated with an error the icon will be filled in. The top error has a note, the bottom error does not. You can read the note by hovering over it.

 

Click on the note icon to edit the note or delete the note by selecting the Delete button.

 

The notes added in the data quality list will display in the Animal Notes grid in Animal Detail screen.

 

The following Rules apply:

• You can only delete a note from the Data Quality list. You can edit notes linked to data quality errors in the Animal Notes grid (editing here will update the note in the Data Quality list) but you cannot delete a note linked to a Data Quality error from the Animal Notes grid.
• Each error can have only one note. If there are multiple errors for an animal, each error can have a note.
• You can add/edit/delete notes on active or dismissed errors.
  • If an error is dismissed the associated note keywords will be updated to display DISMISSED.
  • If an error is resolved (no longer displays in the Data Quality list) the note will remain in the Animal Notes grid with RESOLVED added to the keyword. Now that the error note is no longer linked to a data quality error, you can delete it from the notes grid.
• Functionality is available under the Edit Role control for Data Quality. If edit access is granted by the Regional Association/Institution, you can add/edit/delete notes. If you only have view access to Data Quality you can only view notes.
• These notes can be rolled back in Data Entry Monitoring.
