The Batch Add animals functionality is available only for animals not currently being tracked at a ZIMS institution. It is especially useful for studbooks that track animals that have a large litter/clutch size.
You must first create a new studbook record by completing one event in each of the required fields (Transactions, Parents, Taxonomy, Sex and Rearing). Because all the information recorded in the origin record will be copied into the batch records, to best use the functionality the following information should be the same:
Once you have completed the required fields, the option to Batch Add and Save becomes active.
Selecting Batch Add and Save will open the screen below:
1.The Studbook ID will be populated based on your selection in the Batch Add screen (see above) but is editable.
2.The first entry is sourced from the Draft origin record and is not editable (except for the Studbook ID)
3.Record the Local ID (free text field)
4.Record the Sex (data standard)
5.If you selected to Batch Add too many records you can delete the row here
6.If you did not select to Batch Add enough records you can add rows here
7.Once all the fields are completed the Save button becomes active
When you Save you will be taken back to the origin record which is now a permanent studbook entry. The batch records will appear in the Studbook List.
