Sample and sub-sample Rules

Restrictions on creating Samples and Sub-samples in ZIMS Medical

Contact Species360 Support

You can edit a sample that has sub-samples associated with it and revisions for some fields (such as collection time) will automatically alter all sub-samples, however sample quality is relevant to each sample/sub-sample and revision is unique to each individual sample.

ZIMS does not support changing a sample type . The rules about which samples could change into other sample types are highly complex. Species360 recommends if you have a serum sample for testing, then enter it as a serum sample and all subsamples will be serum. The relationship to the originating animal or group will be the unifying record for these samples of differing types.
