Enclosure Moves and Drag and Drop

The difference between Drag and Drop in the Enclosure Tree and actually moving an Enclosure.

Drag and Drop

If your enclosure tree is not arranged as you would like it to be you have the functionality to “Drag and Drop” the enclosures in the tree to correct it by left clicking on the enclosure you want to move, holding it and moving it under a new Parent enclosure. There is no tracking with this functionality and once you drag and drop an enclosure in the Enclosure Tree it will display there with no indication of where it was previously. Drag and Drop is used for data quality to quickly clean up the organization of your Enclosure Tree.

 

Enclosure Move

If you physically take a moveable enclosure and put it someplace else in your facility you should record an Enclosure Move and not simply re-arrange your Enclosure Tree using the Drag and Drop functionality. Recording Enclosure Moves will capture the history of the locations the enclosure has been in at your facility.

 

To move an Enclosure, open the Enclosure record > More Details tab > Move History grid > Actions > Record Enclosure Move. In our example, Tank 2 is broken and needs to be moved to the Maintenance Building for repairs. From the Actions button select Record Enclosure Move.

 

 

 

1.Current Parent Name – Defaults to where the enclosure is and is not editable.

2.Move Date – Date of the move.

3.New Enclosure Location – Free text field for additional information

4.New Parent Enclosure – Where you are moving the enclosure, in our example Maintenance.

5.Enclosure Move Reason – Select from the data standard.

6.Description – Add further details about the move.

 

The history of where the enclosure has been is captured using the Move History functionality.

 

The Enclosure will be moved in the Enclosure Tree.
