Animals-Adding Development Milestones

How to add developmental milestones to an animal record in ZIMS

Contact Species360 Support

Development Milestones are stages in an animal’s life. There is one date associated with them and then they move on to another. For example, a bird might have the following milestones:

         Down development

         Feathered fully

         Fledge

         First molt

         Egg lay

Development Milestones are found under the More Details tab in the animal record. Select Actions > Add New.

1.Select the Milestone from the dropdown list. These lists are filtered by taxonomy, so a cheetah will not have the option to fledge.

2.Record the Date which can be estimated or excluded from norms. Although there are currently no global resources that capture Development Milestones, it is hoped to be developed in the future.

3.Reported By is useful if there are questions

4.Use the Comment box to provide any additional information

The milestones will display in the grid.
